Nesse domingo (11/9), a Uefa anunciou que a partida entre Rangers e Napoli, pela 2ª rodada do grupo A da Champions League, inicialmente marcada para acontecer nesta terça-feira (13/9), foi adiada por medidas de segurança relacionadas ao funeral da Rainha Elizabeth II. Com isso, o jogo irá ocorrer um dia depois, nesta quarta (14/9), às 16h, em Glasgow, na Escócia, a casa dos Rangers.
Vale destacar que além deste jogo, a partida entre as equipes, válida pela Youth League, a Champions de categoria de base, sofreu a mesma alteração no calendário.
Para a partida, a Uefa também anunciou que a torcida do Napoli não poderá estar presente na cidade escocesa para acompanhar a equipe, também por questões de segurança. No jogo do returno, os torcedores do Rangers também não poderão ir a cidade de Nápoles para respeitar a igualdade esportiva.
Elizabeth II faleceu na última quinta-feira (8/9) aos 96 anos no Castelo de Balmoral, localizado na Escócia, onde a Família Real costuma passar o verão. Já nesse domingo (11/9), o cortejo fúnebre deixou o local a caminho de Edimburgo, capital escocesa, onde será velado nesta segunda-feira, na Catedral de Saint Giles. Na terça-feira (13/2), data original da partida, o corpo será levado a Londres, para a sequência das cerimônias. (Metrópoles)
