Após disputar um torneio classificatório para a disputa da Copa América de Basquete, a Seleção Brasileira Feminina está convocada para o qualificatório do Pré-Olímpico de Los Angeles 2028. A competição será disputada em Guadalajara, no México, entre os dias 17 e 23 de agosto.
Comandante da Seleção Brasileira Feminina, o técnico Léo Figueiró manteve a base da equipe que conquistou o bronze no torneio Sul-Americano. O elenco conta com apenas quatro novidades: Marcella Prande, Emanuely Oliveira, Iza Sangalli e Letícia Cesario.
Porém, a principal jogadora do Brasil segue fora. Kamila Cardoso, pivô do Chicago Sky, não está na lista do torneio já que a disputa coincide com o calendário da WNBA.
O torneio, que será realizado no México, serve como um atalho para disputar o Pré-Olímpico de Basquete. O campeão em Guadalajara garante a classificação. As nações que não conseguirem a vaga podem tentar novamente na disputa da Copa América de 2027, em El Salvador.
A Seleção Brasileira Feminina está no Grupo A da competição, ao lado da Argentina, Nova Zelândia e Sudão do Sul. Na outra chave estão Canadá, México, Filipinas e Senegal.
