Chegou ao fim o Mundial de Natação Paralímpica, em Singapura, na manhã deste sábado (27/9). O Brasil encerrou a participação na competição com 39 medalhas, sendo 13 ouros, 16 pratas e 10 bronzes, e ficou na 6ª posição do classificação geral do torneio.
No último dia de competições, os brasileiros conquistaram três medalhas em oito finais disputadas, o que manteve a colocação do Brasil no ranking final do Mundial. Mariana Gesteira ficou com o ouro, na prova de 50m livres S9. Já Gabriel Bandeira garantiu a prata nos 100m borboleta da categoria S14. Mayara Petzold foi a última a subir ao pódio, com o bronze nos 50m borboleta.
A Itália foi a grande campeã do torneio, com 46 medalhas, sendo 18 ouros, 17 pratas e 11 bronzes. Estados Unidos, com 35 pódios, e China, com 33, completaram o top 3 do Mundial. Com o mesmo número de ouros dos italianos, os EUA ficaram com a segunda posição devido ao número inferior de pratas (apenas seis segundos lugares).
Ucrânia e Grã-Bretanha completaram o top-5 da competição. O Brasil apareceu logo depois, em 6º lugar. Apesar do sucesso no Mundial, esta não foi a melhor campanha brasileira no torneio. Em 2022, na Ilha da Madeira, a nação terminou em terceiro na classificatória geral, atrás apenas de Estados Unidos e Itália, com 53 pódios ( 19 ouros, 10 pratas e 24 bronzes).
