Em meio ao suposto avanço nas negociações entre Estados Unidos e Irã para um cessar-fogo no Oriente Médio, Israel fez novos ataques ao Líbano neste domingo (14/6). Pelas redes sociais, o premiê israelense, Benjamin Netanyahu, afirmou que o país atacou a capital libanesa.
“Atacamos em Dahiyeh, em Beirute, alvos terroristas da organização terrorista Hezbollah. Israel não tolerará disparos em seu território”, escreveu, compartilhando um vídeo que mostra o momento do ataque.
Em comunicado oficial, as Forças de Defesa de Israel (IDF) informaram que os ataques miraram um centro de comando do Hezbollah em Beirute. De acordo com o órgão, a medida foi uma reação a disparos feitos pelo grupo terrorista contra Israel.
“A organização terrorista Hezbollah continua a realizar ataques terroristas contra cidadãos do Estado de Israel e soldados das Forças de Defesa de Israel (IDF). As IDF continuarão a operar para eliminar qualquer ameaça ao Estado de Israel e aos seus soldados, em conformidade com as diretrizes da cúpula política”, informou as IDF.
Os ataques ocorrem em um momento que Estados Unidos e Irã avançam para fechar um acordo de cessar-fogo ainda neste domingo, conforme informou Donald Trump e autoridades paquistanesas, que intermediam as negociações.
Embora os detalhes do tratado não sejam amplamente públicos, o chanceler iraniano informou que a previsão é que o fim das hostilidades também se estendam ao Líbano. O fim dos ataques a Beirute tem sido reivindicado pelo Irã. Israel, por outro lado, se opõe à medida. Com informações de Metrópoles.
